Day One: Zine by Simon and Timothy Stouffer

Photos and poems from one day spent travelling the North Shore of Lake Superior in the spring of 2017. Black and white photos by Simon Stouffer and poems by Timothy Stouffer. This was a father and son project with no artistic constraints; they just hit the road.

Note: A zine (pronounced "zeene" like Maga -- zeene) is a self-published piece of art, photography, or writing that is often run off on copy machines and produced in extreme short runs. It is a way to produce art quickly. These were printed locally, right here in Ely off a small press with high-quality paper to highlight the black and white photos.

For those of you who enjoy the poetry that often appears on our Facebook site, you'll like the images that one day on the North Shore of Lake Superior invoke. Made in Ely, Minnesota.
