Ely's West End in the Thirties
by Milt Stenlund
The West End of Ely was the area from Central Avenue west to the end of town and included Camp, Sheridan and Chapman Streets. Everything east of the business district was called the East End. This 20 page booklet published by the Ely-Winton Historical Society includes many historical photos of the West End and also a drawing of the city blocks with documentation on who lived in each house. It also describes activities the locals engaged in during this time period.
